Missions
Why do we serve?
-
James 1:27 "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."
-
Matthew 25:35-46, 40b "For I was hungry, and you fed Me. I was thirsty, and you gave Me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited Me into your home. I was naked, and you gave Me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for Me. I was in prison, and you visited Me. I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!"

Would you like to be a part of serving the Omaha community in a meaningful way? Come join our Faith Journey family! Here are some ways that we have been serving recently:
Local ministries we support reaching out to the Omaha community:
-
Open Door Mission - (opendoormission.org) is a homeless shelter which supplies housing, meals, job skills training, furniture and clothes to those in need. There are various ways to serve at this location including sorting and organizing their donations, serving meals, babysitting, helping with worship services, or sharing job skills and computer training.
-
Heartland Hope Mission - (heartlandhopemission.org)- is the largest food pantry in Nebraska which shares a Bible message and offers food and clothing to those in need. They are open four times a week for people to get supplies, so they need administrative and hospitality gifted people to assist them in their mission. Also, they plan to move their equipment and donations to a much larger location soon so they will need help in that endeavor.
-
Also, we have served at Release Inc. (Foster Care closet) (releaseinc.org) which mentors and assists foster families to have the resources they need to thrive.
